As an ITO we Recognise Prior Learning and we distinguish between experienced worker students and Tyro or New, inexperienced worker students ie. we tailor training to meet experienced or non-experienced workers..

We work ON or OFF SITE During and After Hours. And our staff have appropriate Police checks to be able to work in sensitive areas

registered training organisations (rto) must offer Recognition of Prior Learning (rpl) to all students, if they don't, they may be in breach of Standard 1 of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 which may make their registration non-compliant and their qualifications doubtful. The student or employer should then report the rto to the Minister of Vocational Education and Training in Canberra.

COVID CPR
To do CPR in a COVID climate ALWAYS WEAR A MASK and COVER the casualty's face and nose with a mask or cloth; this is to stop COVID contaminated aerosols being released from the casualty's nose and mouth when compressing the chest.
EAR or Expired Air Resuscitation by breathing onto the casualty is not advised during covid.

  • Keep learning and keep improving. Today we are too well fed to push the creative boundaries of learning or to work too hard. It put me in mind of the story told about the big white bwana who, in the 1960's, was studying the expert tracking skills of the little Bushmen of the Kalahari. When the "educated" white man asked the Chief Little Bushman what made the Bushmen such expert trackers, the little bloke replied - Hunger.

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Too many employers have been bluffed into believing that an outside body controls how they train their staff. NOT TRUE. All employers have the right to source vocational training from where they see fit. They can even have IN-HOUSE vocational training and credentialing. Employers can accept or reject any credential. However, fair play demands that no credential issued by an ITO or RTO should be rejected without allowing the holder the opportunity to prove their skills.

If a credential is rejected purely on the basis of which organisation issued it,

THEN THE HOLDER MAY HAVE A CASE OF WORKPLACE DISCRIMINIATION, WORKPLACE STRESS OR BULLYING AND SHOULD REPORT THE REJECTING COMPANY TO -

FAIR WORK AUSTRALIA OR MAKE A WORKCOVER CLAIM FOR STRESS FOR THE TIME THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WORK

"It is against the law for employers to treat their employees or contractors unfavourably because they make reasonable requests or communicate concerns about their employment entitlements verbally or in writing. This is known as discrimination on the basis of employment activity. Employees are protected from discrimination at all stages of employment including recruitment..."
(extract from Victorian Equal Opportunity & Human Rights Commission)

Further, the discriminating company may be Guilty of CARTEL BEHAVIOUR and/or THIRD LINE FORCING or other restrictive trade practices which are illegal in Australia under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.

Or, if the rejecting company is a Tier 1 Contractor they may be in breach of their National Safety accreditation by the Federal Safety Commissioner and a complaint for WORKPLACE STRESS may be lodged with the Commissioner. Download the documents from the FSC website.
